PTFE

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is one of the highly crystalline plastics.
PTFE has excellent insulating properties as well as chemical and weather resistance. It is an almost incombustible plastic that does not liquefy when heated, but only becomes soft like rubber.

Due to its anti-adhesive behaviour, no sticky plastics adhere to the surface. It is also not wetted by liquids, which means that moisture absorption is almost zero. For this reason, polytetrafluoroethylene is frequently used in industry for conveyor belts and coatings, which must have a repellent surface for e.g. hot or sticky goods from rubber, adhesive and plastic welding technology.
Furthermore, due to its excellent electrical insulating properties and its non-polar structure, PTFE is also used for electrical insulating parts and switch parts for high voltages in electrical engineering.
