The 20th Automotive Award of SPE Central Europe: Call for submission of components - Special Awards and innovations in categories
On September 15, 2020, SPE Central Europe invited to participate in the 20th SPE Automotive Awards competition for innovative plastic vehicle components. Entries can be submitted until 15.01.2021.
All companies in the plastics industry should submit their innovative components for vehicle construction for the Automotive Award. In accordance with the current situation, the categories in which the awards are presented have again been adjusted:
Body Interior - Interior Design
Body Exterior - outdoor application
New Mobility - Drive technology electric motors / fuel cell vehicles
Chassis Unit / Structural Component - Body and structural component
Power Train - Chassis and Drive Technology internal combustion engines
Electronical/Optical Part - Electronic/Optical component
Enabler Technology - Supporting Technology
Resources, special technologies, prototypes, pre-series parts and parts that represent an innovation in integrated, economical process design or digitalization can be submitted in the latter category.
Only serial parts can be assigned to the first six categories.
New Special Award
3 Special Awards are to be presented in 2021. The part that was most often considered highly innovative by the judges will receive the Grand Innovation Award. The Grand Award is given across all categories, since 1992, for the submission with the highest score.
The Sustainability Award will be presented for the first time next year for the submitted parts with the best overall ecological balance.
All entrepreneurs involved in the development and production of a part or component can submit their parts. This means that not only vehicle manufacturers and system suppliers, but also plastics processors, tool and machine manufacturers, raw material producers or design offices can participate in the competition.

Evaluation by expert jury
In spring 2021, an independent jury consisting of experts from vehicle construction and all areas of plastics technology will evaluate the submitted plastic components according to objective criteria. This ensures equal opportunities for small, medium-sized and large companies to win the recognized and coveted prize.
The award ceremony will take place on July 9, 2021.
