As part of the flexible multilayer film for stand-up pouches, the cycloolefin copolymer (COC) "Topas" from Topas Advanced Polymers is compatible with recycling streams from polyethylene (PE) films. The company also announced that this has now been confirmed by the Association of Plastics Recyclers (APR) in the form of a Key Guidance Recognition. Based on this, the test includes 15.5% of "Topas" 9506F-500, 8007F-600, 7010F-600 and 6013F-04 self-supporting bag film meeting or exceeding APR's key guidance for PE film and flexible packaging, Pathway 1 (FPE-CG-01). In 2020, APR tested a glossy PE-HD container with an outer layer of 20% "Topaz" 8007F-600 and issued a confirmation letter.
